Costume and the man bow

"are you guys going to a costume party?"
"...no, we are just going shopping"

...probably because she was wearing a feather headpiece and i was wearing a huge bow scarf
and we were both in black...

Speaking of bow! I saw the cutest Man Bow on The Sartorialist the other day...
I have been wanting to post but the 'post editor' html kept fucking with me UGH!

I present you...
THE CUTEST MAN BOW ever!

Also, the BIGGEST bow!

Cuteness

Ali Michael at Luella (via Jak & Jil)

The must-have in the collection

Luella Spring 2010 Ready to wear (via style.com, click here to see the rest of the collection)

In my opinion, Luelle is a subtle, feminine version of Betsey Johnson
I have always been a fan of Luella, but this collection is just way too cute!

And also super wearable

Polka dots + bows + pastel colors = Cute overload!

Esquire The Muse Women We Love

Esquire x Byford
So I went to the Esquire x Byford show at Dada, my first fashion show ever in Hong Kong. To be honest, I didn't even go to any "proper grown up" show in Melbourne, apart from art shows/gallery launches (for the free booze)
This one wasn't the proper large scaled type, you know seats and all that...

The first part of the show was pretty interesting, I got to see Hong Kong celebs in real life. It was fun bitching about them! The second bit (The actual Byford fashion show) was a bit boring to me. There are menwear brands i like but in a whole I am not THAT into menwear.

My first taste of Reality
I used to have this perfect picture about proper fashion show in my head: Everyone is super stylish, even the photographers, and they all talk about fashion and art with a lot of passion
But in real life the whole thing (at least this one) seems to be a little too corporate. Just a bunch of PRs and Marketing people socialising
Is it me? Or is it like that everywhere? Is this really how the industry work?

Now my little bubble is bursted, leaving the naive me with disappointment *sighs*

To be fair, there were stylish people
The guys from Byford! They are the-sartorialist-targets!
Think pin stripes 3 pieces suit and nice leather shoes! I should have taken pics =/

Open bar
I failed to take advantage of the open bar, I only had 4 glasses of white

Diss, diss, diss
It was a bit odd when the MC asked Kary (She was in the girl group Cookies)
"Would you
仿效 (follow/imitate) Lady Gaga's style?"
I don't think that's appropriate?
First of all, FOLLOW? She was awarded with the The Muse Women We Love thingy
Geez! She is supposed to be a trendsetter, an inspiration!
You might say that wasn't really what she meant, but that's how I interpret it

The question is shit enough, what even worse is,
she answered "yeah, maybe only on the stage, it's a bit too much" something like that along the line

I understand if you like the color red, you don't have to wear red all over from head to toes
BUT
she was saying how "Oh, it's all about the attitude. It's a lifestyle, i really like Lady Gaga, her style is crazy and she probably dress like that just to go downstairs and buy a bottle of water."
You like Gaga because she has her own style, and her signature crazy style is a part of her daily life
but you choose to 'follow' and 'oh too much, on stage only!'?

... just saying

P.S. The model, Eunice is very nice. Well, I am saying that just because she complimented on my outfit's color combination! Nah, she's good!

Pics coming soon!
